School Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus,

As we begin a new school day,
help us to grow and learn in a Christian way.

Amen

Newsletter Highlights

Self Isolation/Absence – If your child is absent from school, but well, please check Teams for their class, or the online learning tab for work to complete at home. Where tasks are suitable they will be uploaded to Teams, however unless a whole class is in isolation we cannot facilitate a mix of home/school learning.

Late families – Please be aware that gates will typically close around 8.55am. Currently they are open longer to allow for Y4 families to use our ‘drive by’ option due to self isolation. From next Wednesday (18/11)
all late children will have to enter via the front gate with parents completing a late form. This is recorded on their educational record. Children coming in late miss the vital first settling part of their day, are at risk of forgetting to order lunch, disturb their class as they come in late and it’s just not fair on them to run in late. Please talk to us if you are having issues.

Online communications – It is coming to our attention that more and more children are playing, or chatting online in a variety of forms. We are aware of both verbal and written incidences where children have been unkind to each other.
We ask parents to ensure that the relevant safeguards are in place so they are aware of what their children are doing online. In the first instance we would remind parents that many games have a PEGI
rating, or age rating.
We know this is a lovely way for children to come together when other ways are limited but please ensure all of the children are being kind.

Reception class applications 20-21 Applications are now open. Please be advised that the Vale of Glamorgan manages applications for the school. Whilst we are unable to offer visits currently we are
really happy to answer any queries you may have by email or over the phone.

School Car Park – Please note that the school car park is not available for parents to use – it is for staff car parking only

Sickness – Please can we remind parents that if your child is sent home from school or is sick at home that 48 hours must clear from the last vomiting episode before your child comes back into school. We are aware that some children are coming back to school too early and this is putting the school community at risk of being ill. Please allow sufficient time for your child to recover before they return to school.

There are a few reminders below from staff:
 All children need a labelled water bottle.
 Please bring coats/wellies as we will get outside whatever the weather!
 Snack reminder – fruit or a small cereal bar for snack. Fridays we allow crisps but just a small
bag please! There is no tuck available for purchase at the moment.

 PE Kits including a change of shoes need to be in school daily, or can be left on pegs.
 Please ensure all clothes are labelled!
